Tricity, as the name suggests, consists of three cities: Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia, which together constitute one of the largest metropolitan areas of Poland. The three cities are adjacent to one another and they are located on the coast of Gdańsk Bay, Baltic Sea. In spite of being fairly different from one another, the cities form a unique, harmonious whole.
Gdańsk is a 1000 years old capital of the whole Pomerania region, its magnificent old town being a true treasure trove of architectural, historical and cultural attractions. Sopot is a dream destination for all those who need to relax, as it is a famous spa and health resort, with mysterious forests, wonderful beaches and Europe’s longest wooden pier. Gdynia, on the other hand, is all about modernity: a young, vibrant city with an impressive harbour.
